The biggest difference: the format
The MoonSwatch is a classic wristwatch with standard lugs. The Royal Pop is a pocket watch: Swatch delivers it on a lanyard, with no bracelet. Mechanical vs quartz
The Royal Pop uses the Sistem51 movement, a mechanical movement that you wind by hand, with a power reserve of about 90 hours. The MoonSwatch runs on a quartz battery and has a chronograph function. If you love the idea of a mechanical watch you wind yourself, the Royal Pop has the edge. If you want a stopwatch on the wrist, the MoonSwatch does that.
Are the bracelets interchangeable?
No. The two cases have different shapes and attachments. Our bracelets are designed for the Royal Pop 40mm only and do not fit the MoonSwatch. Likewise, a MoonSwatch strap will not fit the Royal Pop correctly.
Which one to choose?
- Choose the Royal Pop if you love the octagonal Royal Oak design, mechanical movements and bold colours, and you enjoy personalising with bracelets.
